Ending food waste. Building resilience. Creating the future of sustainable nutrition.
Donate NowA Los Angeles food site run on mutual aid — not charity. Daily meals, a community choice pantry, food rescue, and real job training. We all need help sometimes, so we help each other.
You're not a client here. You're a neighbor. You might get a meal today and serve one next week. Everyone who comes through these doors is part of this — that's the whole point.
"I'm the founder. I'm the CEO. And I'm a volunteer — always have been, always will be. We're all just people supporting each other forward."
100–150 hot meals made fresh and served with respect. Come hungry, sit down, stay a while.
Not a handout line — a grocery experience. You choose what your family actually needs.
We rescue good food across LA before it's wasted, and get it onto plates the same day.
Volunteering is a path to real skills and leadership. Young people learn, grow, and lead here.
This isn't charity.

We all need help sometimes — so we help each other. Today someone helps you; tomorrow you help someone else.
Right now we pay rent every month. When we own our building at 3615 Beverly, that money stays in the neighborhood — and we build something that lasts:
Food is foundational. Without it, it's harder to think, work, heal, or build anything. When people go hungry, they feel insecure — and that ripples out into all of us. So feeding each other isn't a favor. It's how a community stays whole.
My grandfather changed our family name to Newborn after emancipation — an act of choosing his own story. My father helped build this vision before he passed at 91. We carry that forward: a place where people get fed, learn, lead, and build something larger than themselves.
I'm not asking for charity. I'm asking you to be part of mutual aid — to believe food is a right, and to help us prove a neighborhood can own its future.

Partner With Us
Community Space Food Bank grows through partnership. Tap your world below to see how we can move in the same direction — feeding people, rescuing good food, and building a stronger Los Angeles together.
We partner with schools on the three things that shape a young person’s life at once: education, community, and nutrition. Your students can earn community-service and service-learning hours with us — sorting food, running the daily meal program, working the Community Choice Pantry — building real skills while feeding their own neighbors. And when families in your school community are struggling, we’re here seven days a week to make sure they eat with dignity. Food is foundational: a child who is fed can learn, show up, and grow. Let’s build something together.
Start a school partnership →We’re a seven-day pantry — open every day, including the days most pantries are closed. If your site is closed on a given day, send your neighbors to us; no one should go hungry waiting for the next distribution. And if you have good food you can’t store between your pantry days, we’ll take it and keep it moving to people instead of the landfill. We rescue, store, and redistribute daily. Let’s cover each other’s gaps so your clients are never left without.
Coordinate with us →If you ever have safe surplus — prepared food from approved sources, bakery items, or produce that can’t be sold but can still feed people — we’ll rescue it. Simple same-day pickup, dignity-first redistribution, and good food kept out of the trash. A partnership reduces your waste and shows your community that what you make still matters after closing time.
Set up food rescue →Overstock, close-dated items, cosmetically imperfect produce, dairy, and packaged goods that can’t be sold but are still perfectly good — we pick up, sort, and redistribute the same day to families, seniors, and neighbors. You cut waste and disposal costs; the community gets fed. That’s a partnership that works both ways.
